Base Aérienne 279 Châteaudun is situated 100 km southwest of the french capital Paris. The main task of this airfield is aircraft storage and lot of airframes will end here on the scrapyard, too. Further the GERSA (Groupe d’entretien de réparation et de stockage des aéronefs) prepare some aircraft to deliver them to other French Airforce units. On my visit 2013 I counted more than 300 different planes…less or more fit for action.
